Framing Day 6 (9-7-10)

On to Day 6 of framing. They started putting up the roof trusses today (and nearly finished!) The only area that doesn't have the roof structure in is the pantry/laundry room area. Everything else is pretty much finished. This will be a pretty picture intensive post, so enjoy!

First a tour around the house:

There's a bedroom window and two bathroom windows that still need to be cut out of the sheething. I'm thinking they leave it fully covered to add some extra ridgitity until the roof is installed and all of the structure is finally tied together.

Standing inside the entryway, looking at the living room and eating area to the left.

The dining area and through the stud wall that separates living from kitchen.

In the dining area, looking back towards living room and bedrooms/baths beyond.

The next two photos show a good idea of how the deck will be. This is just a temporary scaffolding to help the workers install the roof trusses and exterior sheething, but it is a good representation of the size of the deck.

And finally, my favorite area of the house:

Also, I thought I'd give you a little preview of something I've been working on...more to come on this later:

Check back tomorrow for more updates!
